Oberlin College Archives Visual Study Collection
Date:
2008-
Description:
Students at Oberlin are often assigned research projects that involve examining historical visual resources at the Archives. In the 2008-2009 academic year students scanned images to use as illustrations in their papers for courses such as Media & Memory, Meanings of the Memorial Arch, and Approaches to Western Architectural History. To offer these and other images to future students, Archives staff loaded over 200 digital image files (i.e. schematic drawings, models, photographs, and ephemera) onto an image database using CONTENTdm with metadata required for citation purposes. This collection will grow in response to faculty and student image needs.
